The FLASH Radiotherapy is a revolutionary new technique in the cancer cure. The treatment dramatically decreases the toxicity in the healthy tissue while keeping the same efficacy in cancer treatment.

Build new laboratory

As part of the PE6 HEAL_ITALIA project, the Accelerators and Detectors groups are building an electron accelerator that generates pulsed beams in the low-energy 7-12 MeV FLASH regime. The laboratory will be located at the SBAI Department where the LINAC-FLASH and accelerator will be installed in collaboration with SIT S.p.A.
